My love for the Al-Huroof books began long before I ever thought of selling them. I only ever knew about them being made by a family friend.

They are the type of books that make you want to buy more each time! They have always held a special place in my heart, so it is truly a blessing to now be able to share them with other families.

I have created Arabic alphabet flashcards and simple colouring booklets for toddlers to help introduce the important basics of Islam from an early age. I originally designed these resources for my own children—especially the flashcards, which have been incredibly useful in learning the Arabic alphabet and harakaat—and I hope they will be just as beneficial for your little ones on their learning journey.

Books

Learning about Prophets and Messengers is an important part of any Muslims education. The series ‘I am learning about the Prophets’ has been especially designed for young Muslim readers between the ages of 5 to 7 years old to help them on this learning journey.

The content has been carefully designed to help build basic reading skills using guided reading. You can help your child visualise the concept presented and encourage them to decode the words as they build their reading skills. 

The text combines high frequency words (KS1 HFW) for 5 to 7 year olds with additional challenging words to help describe the colourful images on each page.

How to use the books...

The content is presented using a simple format so that young readers can engage with parents or adults listening to them. The format also follows key pointers for each story such as: 

-Who was the Prophet/Messenger?

-Who did he come to?

-What was his message?

-Did his people listen to him?

-What happened to the people they were sent to?

-What happened to the Prophet/ Messenger?

There is a list of high frequency words (HFW) and also challenging words for the young reader. As the content has more information, there are more additional challenging words. Parents listening to their child read can help them decode the words and sound them out.

The Short Surah series are aimed at children above 8 years old and the Duaa Series targeting 6 to 9 year olds!

The translation of the Qur’aan for the books has been taken from the Noble Qur’aan, published by Darussalam and translated by Dr Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al Hilali and Dr Muhammad Muhsin Khan. The translation has been simplified for the age group without distorting or changing the meaning. All other references used have been done so on the basis of their use of authentic sources.

We strive our best to use references that are taken strictly from the understanding of the Salaf us-Saalih. Should any error be found after the book has been checked and printed please contact us and we will correct them for future editions, insha’Allaah.

About Al-Huroof

Al-Huroof is a small project that’s started in 1995 with an aim to produce authentic Islamic teaching aids and material. These are based on the Qur’aan and Sunnah, with the understanding of the Prophet Muhammad (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and his righteous companions -Salaf -us-Saalih- (radiAllaahu’anhum).

The team is unique in that they are all female professionals working in the education field. After thanking Allaah, Subhaanahu, we would like to thank all those who have aided these books, from formatting, checking and feedback. 

May Allah accept it as Sadaqah Jaariyah from us, Ameen.
